Sunday Afternoon

I don't even bother turning on the food network anymore. I can't even bring myself to capitalize its name. Serves them right. I just hope that somehow, they know that they are being punished with improper grammar. Take that, evil TV corporation! Until they let me know what has happened to my beloved Brian Boitano, they shall be disgraced with lower case letters.

So I have been thinking lately that I should change the title of my blog. With the exception of YTW, my entries tend to be pure rant, rather than small thoughts. It cannot be helped. There is just something therapeutic about sending rants out in cyberspace where someone else may read them and agree. (And I don't need anyone to remind me about how unlikely it is that the legions of Brian Boitano fans are flocking to my blog to see what I have to say on the matter.)

Let me post a little non ranting for once. This weekend there was a renaissance fair (faire?) on campus. I only had time to quickly walk through it, but it was fun nonetheless. I wish
I had more time (and money) to spend there before they leave. There is just something about those fairs that make
them so much fun. Maybe the air of sillyness that I seem to associate with men who dress like a cross between King
Arthur and Jack Sparrow. Heh heh...

Not Happy!

What Would Brian Boitano Make was not on the Food Network today when it was supposed to be! Every Sunday at one I faithfully tune into the Food Network to watch the hilarity that is Brian Boitano. Last week I got a hint that something was awry since they played a rerun rather than a new episode. But this week he wasn't there at all! And foodnetwork.com is set up horribly, so I can't find any useful information. Oh sure, go there to find any recipe you would ever need, but try to find info on your new favorite show that has suddenly disappeared from the tv? Impossible! Oh Brian, where did you go?

Where is the new episode?

Every Sunday I watch What Would Brian Boitano Make on the Food Network. But today it wasn't a new episode! They showed the first episode of the season. I am pretty upset. Since the fiasco with Pushing Daisies I can't help but be a little wary when they start messing with my favorite shows. All I have to say is there better be a new episode next week. Or else.

In other news, I think one of my professors killed a sofa to make the outfit she wore to the last class. (I am not saying which prof in order to protect myself, lolz) But seriously. She was wearing a blazer made out of this thick fabric with this big floral pattern on it. I immediately thought of upholstery.

One thought.

The image of a half eaten banana just popped in my head. You know, when someone will cut a banana in half, and eat one part of it and leave the rest to get brown on the counter. I remember my grandparents on my dad's side doing this a lot. Who wants to eat just half of a banana? It isn't very big or filling, so why not just eat the whole thing? Do they ever get around to eating the other half? The fact that people do this really bothers me. And this is what I think about when I should be doing homework.

Weekend Update

Since I have no classes on Fridays, I consider Thursday night the beginning of my weekend. Last Thursday, my mom came to get me and bring me home for the weekend because it was Timmy's birthday!

Binx also enjoyed Timmy's birthday...

As I posted on Friday, I went down to Detroit that night while Timmy had his APO thingamabob. Saturday was his birthday, and also his cousin's wedding. The wedding was a lot of fun! Although, in his sermon, the priest related the couple's marriage to Ulysses S. Grant. I didn't get it. Supposedly Grant had a wonderful marriage, even though he was the worst president the U.S. has ever had, and ended his life as a drunken, broke failure. But hey, his marriage was good, so lets use him in the wedding sermon! I was cracking up.

After the reception, Timmy and I went back to my house and we watched WALL-E with my mom. I LOVE WALL-E! I definately think that WALL-E is the best Pixar movie ever. Next comes Toy Story, because it is from my childhood and therefore just awesome. But I'm not going to go into my ranks of Pixar movies right now because I want to talk about WALL-E. If you (the three people who actually read this) haven't seen it, you need to. Right now. I just love it, WALL-E is just so adorable, I want to take him home with me. I also like the content of the movie (don't worry if you haven't seen it, I'm not going to give anything away). I find it amazing that it takes years to make these movies, but the content of WALL-E is so poignant right now. I could go on and on about the wonders of that movie, but I'm just going to tell you to go watch it and love.

On Sunday, my mom and I slept in and took our time getting back to GV. We stopped at Macaroni Grill for dinner, and finally made it to school at 6:30. I still had my Scarlet Letter paper to write, my Italian packet to finish, and an Italian PowerPoint presentation/3 page report to put together for today. I really DID NOT want to do all that, of course. But I stayed up till 4 and got it all done. I can't guarantee that it is my best work, but at least it is all done. I have never had to pull an all nighter in my life, and I am not about to start now. I actually got 5 1/2 hours of sleep! Go me!

Last night I also frogged the dishcloth I am working on. I had made a bunch of mistakes in it, and I needed the therapy. ALthough it was over halfway done and I have to start it all over again... grrr. I could have let the mistakes go, because they didn't change the look of the work, but I knew that they were there. And I can't live with that. But it doesn't change the fact that I have to start it all over again!!! @#$^&%$*@^#*&^^%$#^@#^&@%#@%%#@^@&@#^%!!!!! That is one long curse. But after last night, I need to curse. It is a good thing that I left my Noro at home, other wise I would be knee deep in a new project right now...
